Carbohydrates Revolution Club ( we’ve seen these guys in a past episode already).Akihabara Culture Group & Fermented Foods Advocacy Club.I also found it funny how the Student Council has already lumped Eizouken in the group of ‘weird clubs’, and boy are some of them really weird: This is actually something I would have expected Science SARU to do I suppose they are turning more and more into a cult/auteur studio, like SHAFT and Kyoto Animation. I do find it a little funny, though, how Tsubame says to the others that animator studios expect artists to draw animation millimeter-by-millimeter on tight deadlines (which may or may not be true, I don’t know), when we see various scenes in this episode where the Science SARU staff sometimes just aren’t…as strict and fluid when it comes to animation (that was my attempt at complimenting them, by the way). True enough, these stories have been brought in to talk about why Kuro is how he is, but it still feels like all of this could have been rewritten so we, as the viewer, wouldn’t be so…bored. Once again in this week’s In/Spectre, not a lot of plot but a story that looks like it’s detailed and interesting for the viewer, when in fact, it’s not. Cool is more of a word the kids use, right? In/Spectre Episode 5 Now, let’s check on all the interes…no… cool shows I’m watching this season. As I was rereading last week’s post of mine, I couldn’t help but notice how much I used the word ‘ interesting‘ or something along those lines. Still not quite sure why Funimation chose to do the show in the first place, though. Funimation took Interspecies Reviewers off their seasonal list last week, and now, Tokyo MX have done the very same thing, removing the show from their broadcast.

A long weekend getaway in Redmond comes with all of the highlights you’d expect from Bend-breathtaking volcanic landscapes, award-winning beer, and an exceptionally walkable downtown. But what makes Redmond destination-worthy? The city of approximately 36,000 is more often than not seen as a place on the way to your high desert adventure, an oversized mile marker indicating you’ve almost made it to your destination.īut I’m here to tell you to book your next stay in this often-overlooked town. Frannie & the Fox has an Italian sensibility with a care for local ingredients and taking care of varied diners, which is Morton's aesthetic through and through.Steelhead Falls (Fontaine Rittelmann) By Andi Prewitt Jat 5:48 pm PDTīend has breweries galore and Bachelor Sisters its charming Old West architecture. There's crab fritters, rigatoni, and whatever fresh fish Morton can get in house and put on the coals. Vegetarian? Many of the dishes can be made so if not already. Into pizza? Try the Tallegio to get you started with honey and black pepper. The result is a rarity in the Charleston market-a restaurant where most people can find their favorite dish on the menu. What's changed is the overhaul of an old hotel into the new Emeline, and the luring of Chef Tim Morton, formerly of the Indigo Road Group, to open a space of his wood-fired, local ingredient dreams. Fifteen years ago, locals might have still directed you to restaurants right on Market Street (which this restaurant sits at the corner of) but five years ago the recommendations would have been anything but. This place proves that everything old becomes new again. Charleston's palate is much more diverse than shrimp and grits, and sometimes you just need a good chicken cutlet sandwich and a cold beer-but make it nice. While this is not a stop for those looking to have a Lowcountry dining experience, it is most certainly is for those looking to have a Charleston experience. There's an unexpected extra step taken with everything, and from the house-made whiz on the Veggie Cheesesteak to a tried-and-true Eggplant Parm, it's clear that the people in the kitchen can cook and aren't just slinging sandwiches. Walking in, all signs seem to point to a run-of-the-mill neighborhood sandwich shop, but one glance at the drinks list and one bite of a salmon BLT and you know that something special is happening here. The booths are simple and so is the decor, but it's all meant to be as straightforward as the friendly service and food. Secondly, when the garage door is up, Berkeley's becomes one of those magical open-air places–with seats on the outside and the insides–and there's a great feel of the breeze and the sounds of the bustling neighborhood beyond the patio. There's almost always a dog on the patio, something that this true neighborhood spot welcomes by remembering the names of regular pooches as much as their people. This gallery has been updated with new information since its original publish date. Read our complete Charleston travel guide here. From seafood spots to steakhouses, these are the best restaurants in Charleston. Sure, there are still plenty of fine dining options on the peninsula to consider-but locals in a city like Charleston dine out on the regular, and that makes for plenty of regular-loved spots that hold special appeal. As the region has changed and shifted, with so many spotlights and transplants thrust upon it, so too has how the city eats: Charleston has become, once again, a city of neighborhood dining, even as real estate prices are driving creativity and culinary greatness to the outskirts of the peninsula and beyond. Although the first flush of Lowcountry love has softened into a comfortable arrangement in the national conversation, it’s left in its receding tide a solid and sincerely delicious cosmopolitan food city. A lot has changed since the best restaurants in Charleston burst onto the national food scene, celebrating the city's seafood tradition, unique ingredients, and culinary heritage forged by many hands-perhaps most notably those of the Gullah Geechee. When played in the right order and for the right duration (by an experienced musician) they can create music. Musical notes are simply sounds of specific frequencies. #PIEZO BUZZERS HOW TO#Now that we have learned how to switch the buzzer on and off, let’s play musical notes! Step 4: Tone function to play musical notesīefore we play musical notes, let us quickly understand what they are. If the problem persists then try replacing the buzzer with an LED (keeping the polarity right) and if the led works, then you can know for certain that fault is in your buzzer and not the circuit or code. #PIEZO BUZZERS CODE#If your buzzer does not work then make sure your code is alright and it is firmly connected the the board. You can upload this to the board and play with the delay a bit to get different beeps. I then set the pin to output by saying pinMode(buzzpin, OUTPUT) and then change its state over and over again from on to off and back every half a second. This is the pin which controls the buzzer, make sure you assign it the same value as the pin your buzzer is connected to. In the first line, I create a variable buzzpin and give it a value of 13.
This other hand very soon lost the tracking and so I stopped interacting with that other object, frustrating me a bit. When I moved my head to focus on one object I wanted to interact with one hand, sometimes I sent to the peripheral view the other hand with which I was already interacting with another cube. On the other side, I noticed that it is quite normal for me to move my head while I interact with objects, to put them more on focus, and this created problems with the limited FOV of my Leap Motion Controller. On one side, the tracking worked well, and I could perform the interactions both with one and two hands. Some little problems with interactions and tracking of the hands when moving my head in the Blocks demoīlocks, an experience to create cubes and interact with them, gave me some mixed feelings. I think this is a problem that must be ironed out before the final release of Gemini. But the problem is that sometimes it requires various seconds to initialize the hand: it seems that it wants to be very sure that it is a hand before actually recognizing it, but this adds frustration to the user, that doesn’t understand why one or both of his hand doesn’t get recognized when they are in front of the headset. Ultraleap talks about “Improved hand initialization” and for sure the sensor, when it detects a hand the first time, it initializes it very well. The only thing that I haven’t liked about the new runtime is the initialization time. I’ve also tried the sensor in desktop mode (so without VR), and I have experienced similar improvements, exactly as the company has promised. I think this opens the road for new rehabilitation experiences. Not bad at all, given the current status of hand tracking. I have to say that I was surprised to see that at least 40% of times, I could actually perform a punch movement in front of me and see it correctly tracked. I also wanted to evaluate how the new hands tracking could be used for punching things: you know that I’m among the developers of HitMotion, an XR boxing game, and I wanted to test how UltraLeap Gemini was usable for fast movements. I’ve tested it with my Leap Motion Controller, the Oculus Quest, and a lot of scotch tape and I was very satisfied by the results. #Oculus rift leap motion updateTracking accuracyĪfter the Orion runtime, the tracking accuracy with Ultraleap sensors was already good, but I can tell you that t he Gemini update brings a new unprecedented level of quality. While reading the review below, remember that this is a preview release, and it will be surely improved during the next months. #Oculus rift leap motion for freeThe preview of the runtime can be downloaded for free by everyone on the UltraLeap website, and the final official release is expected for Q2 2021.

If you're looking for another challenge that lets you flex your creative muscles, check out our awesome art games. These music games will help you improve your rhythm as well. You'll get to play everything from classical music to pop hits. Many of the piano’s most difficult pieces were written recently. How are your music skills? Whether you can play many of Beethoven's greatest compositions or have never been anywhere near a musical instrument, you’ll love our addictive and educational piano games. I discovered mind-bending experimental compositions from the twentieth century that aren’t just technically advanced, but difficult to understand. I also learned from Sam Vesely, Pianote’s resident jazz expert, that there are numerous elements (chord changes, harmonies, rhythms, the piano’s role within a band, etc.) that make a jazz piece difficult. There are also some very interesting experiments happening in the newer jazz fusion genres.Īrranged in no particular order, here is a breakdown of some of the world’s hardest piano songs. Why it’s hard: Rachmaninoff intended Concerto No. 3 as a show-off piece to dazzle audiences on his first American tour. If you ask any classical musician what the hardest song on the piano is, chances are they’ll say, “the Rach 3.” This work graces many top-ten lists for good reason: despite being based around a relatively simple, singable theme, this concerto requires both virtuosity and passion. Why it’s hard: “The Little Bell” by Liszt requires extremely big leaps in the right hand done at dizzyingly fast speeds. The melody is brought out by the thumb, but the repeating D- sharps in the pinky act as a twinkling “bell.” This masterpiece in virtuosity and composition is an arrangement of a melody by Paganini, one of the most famous virtuosic violinists who ever lived. “Take the A Train”-as performed by Oscar Peterson Why it’s hard: Sam names highly variable harmonies and a high-precision, “nearly impossible to recreate” right hand as reasons for why this piece is so challenging. There’s a reason why Louis Armstrong called him “the man with four hands.” But what I love most about Oscar Peterson’s performance is that despite the speed and climax near the end, Peterson never relinquishes control he keeps it cool. Why it’s hard: Ravel wrote “Gaspard de la Nuit” to one-up Mily Balakirev’s “Islamey.” In other words, this whirlwind of a piece was designed to be hard. And it’s lived up to its name-today, the three-part suite makes a frequent appearance on lists of difficult piano pieces. At a certain point, it’s unclear what he is really after anymore, as blessings in his life begin to crumble under the gaze of his blind spots. Throughout the film, Howard becomes more and more disillusioned as he becomes increasingly invested in the value of this gem. However, how can the value of this opal truly be characterized? How can the value of expensive material possessions be characterized in our world as well? Uncut Gems seems to predicate on the concept that a material possession’s “value” is simply an illusion. The value of this opal is almost entirely constructed by Howard, as he attempts to convince others to believe in its intangible high value too. When Boston Celtics star Kevin Garnett is lured into his shop, Howard cannot help but flash this opal that Garnett eventually convinces himself is a good luck charm.Īs a jeweler, every piece of material is attached to a certain value, whether it’s a bracelet, a watch, a necklace, or an Ethiopian opal. A large part of the film’s conflict revolves around Howard’s possession of this “rare” black opal from Ethiopia, which appears in the first sequence of the film. Throughout the film, Howard digs larger and larger holes for himself, as he attempts to get rid of long-standing debts, while simultaneously trying to come out of the situation with more than he started with. Uncut Gems follows a Diamond District jeweler named Howard (Adam Sandler), who is addicted to gambling and that rush of adrenaline one gets from making decisions that could end in win-all or lose-all situations. In fact, one of the things that made me hesitant to watch Uncut Gems (despite it being distributed by A24) is because I thought, how good can a film be with Adam Sandler in it? Do we trust Lenny Feder of Grown Ups (and Grown Ups 2) to execute a serious role? Apparently, we can. ‘Uncut Gems’ reignites his fires and then some, partly because he’s playing someone so driven, who adores the thrill of the chase and takes an almost sexual ecstasy in every payoff.īut it’s also partly because Howard, flamboyant, shameless, loathsome and intermittently lovable, charges so many of Sandler’s familiar expressions and gestures with searing new energy and purpose. Before watching Uncut Gems, I doubted Adam Sandler. “In recent studio misfires … the actor’s familiar shtick has seemed to arise not from a place of gutsy transgressive comedy, but from a zone of laziness and complacency, as if he couldn’t even muster enough energy to laugh his way to the bank. Watching Sandler do it is oddly refreshing,” wrote Los Angeles Times critic Justin Chang in his review. “Watching Howard work overtime can be exhausting. But Sandler’s performance makes it a thrill. Howard is a good-for-nothing hustler, says his wife (an icy Idina Menzel), which almost everyone in his life knows, minus his co-worker/girlfriend (Julia Fox women have two settings in this film). The latest is moving black market Ethiopian opals in 2012 New York, specifically with the help of Boston Celtics superstar Kevin Garnett.ĭirected by Josh and Benny Safdie, who co-wrote the script with Ronald Bronstein, the film features a stressfully frenzied score by Daniel Lopatin, and cinematography by Darius Khondji that shakily locks in on Howard, perfect complements to the pandemonium the character inspires. “Uncut Gems”: Howard Ratner (Adam Sadler) is a wildly chaotic jewelry dealer and gambler, always trying to talk his way into making bigger bets (or maybe more accurately, out of the latest mess he’s created).
#BIGASOFT TOTAL VIDEO CONVERTER TO HARDSUB PC#While DVD/Blu-Ray use graphics based overlay files, most of the PC formats like wmv use text files with special formatting characters. Switchable subs - being able to turn subtitle display on/off is available with DVDs, Blu-Ray, & several (most) PC/web formats. The only way to adjust things to get individual sub timing correct is to use one of a few apps that can preview the video & let you shift/adjust timing as needed - shifting the entire CC/sub stream forward or back is OTOH commonly available with sub & some DVD authoring software. #BIGASOFT TOTAL VIDEO CONVERTER TO HARDSUB MOVIE#CC/subs converted to text files & downloaded can also be *off*, as the movie they're based on can be slightly different lengths depending on the DVD version/country for example. Blu-Ray & other HD video can make sync more difficult since the video often lacks timing info - many apps then will open HD video at the wrong duration. With HD cable CC/subs are decoded by the cable box, rendered & send via HDMI as part of the picture since the HDMI spec left out a method of transferring a separate CC/sub stream.Ĭonverting CC &/or subs to text is a bit prone to minor errors in timing. CC when available is embedded in the video file as text in a binary form. Realmedia is not ideal, but considering the rather poor resolution of VHS it's probably as good a choice as any, providing you allow enough bandwidth or bit rate during encoding.ĭVD & Blu-Ray subs are separate graphics overlay files - to convert to text based files requires an OCR app, & there are several available. Currently the most efficient formats are H264/AVC & VC1, both used for Blu-Ray discs etc., but again the choice depends on what you're playing the video with. Video format depends on what you use to play the video & send the signal to your TV - there are dozens if not a hundred or more methods, boxes etc. Further – whats the best codec for efficient compression for DVD and BD quality video?"įor TV playback you need 1/2 to full-sized video frames - for NTSC that would be 320 x 240 to 720 x 480.
